I am writing my first review ever to express serious concerns regarding ELYPS. Over time, this building has become a hotspot for illegal activities and irresponsible tenants, creating an environment that feels unsafe and unlivable. Below are the key issues: 1. Frequent Presence of Criminals: The building has become a known hangout for drug dealers, strippers, and other individuals involved in illicit activities. These people come and go at all hours of the night, creating a constant disturbance and a sense of danger for those of us who are just trying to live peacefully.
2. Uncontrolled Access: the front door is always broken or remaining open by people putting stuff on the doors to keep them open so they can go in and out. This means that individuals with questionable backgrounds, including those engaging in illegal activity, can move in freely without any consideration for their impact on other residents’ safety and well-being.
3. Unleashed Dogs: Many tenants walk their dogs without leashes, in direct violation of basic pet management rules. These dogs often bark incessantly, and several have attempted to bite or lunge at tenants in common areas like the elevator. The lack of control over pets only adds to the general chaos and makes it feel unsafe to even move around the building.
4. Fire Alarms Pulled at Odd Hours: first two months, living there a fire alarm was pulled in middle of the night. This disruption added to the chaos and made it impossible to rest, further highlighting the lack of control and accountability within the building.
5. Police Chases on the Roof: The building has even been involved in police activity, with a criminal fleeing onto the roof. The danger of having fugitives running around is unacceptable and puts all tenants at risk.
The current management has shown little to no concern about these growing problems, failing to implement even the most basic measures to address safety and security concerns. It is clear that without stricter tenant screening, better building security, and proper pet regulations, this building will continue to spiral further into chaos.
I urge management to take immediate action to address these severe concerns before this property becomes completely uninhabitable for law-abiding tenants.
Updated review to the ELYPS response to my initial review:::

I appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective and try to paint me as petty. I want to clarify that my review was not written out of retaliation but rather as an honest account of my experience.
Unfortunately, after renewing my lease (because I hate moving) , bad people were moving in and had been in the building unbeknownst to me. However, my family faced an unexpected and serious health crisis, which forced me to make the easier decision to terminate my lease just two weeks after signing. Despite the circumstances, there was no consideration given for this hardship, and I was still held responsible for penalties.
I understand that policies are in place for a reason, but I had hoped for a bit more understanding given the situation. My review was meant to inform others of my experience, not to retaliate.
I hope this provides some clarity. Your building has a small non heated pool, no community togetherness and drug dealers, airbnb subleasing occurrences by tenants and no security despite hiring a “courtesy officer”.
