On 04/06/2023 around 3:30 PM, my wife visited the 2000 Ocean building. During her visit, she left our SUV, a Porsche Cayenne, with the valet for approximately 20-30 minutes. Unfortunately, the valet parked the car in a location where it was vulnerable to potential damage, as it was not a designated parking spot but rather an area where two cars were squeezed together. Regrettably, my wife did not notice any damage when she picked up the SUV since the impact occurred on the lower part of the bumper, specifically the right fog light. My wife drove back to Aventure where we live and we did not use the vehicle after this incident.
The following morning, I discovered the damage to my vehicle. It was not extensive, consisting of a broken fog light frame and some minor bumper damage. Concerned about the incident, I immediately contacted the building management. Initially, they assured me that they would review the surveillance videos to determine what had occurred. I was hopeful that this investigation would shed light on the situation. However, the building management informed me that they were unable to locate the recordings and clarified that they had no affiliation with the parking company. They directed me to visit the property to discuss the matter directly with the parking supervisor.
Taking their advice, I went to the property and spoke with the parking supervisor. Unfortunately, he denied any involvement or responsibility for the damage. Nonetheless, he showed me the exact location where he had parked my car, confirming my suspicion that someone attempting a wide turn while entering the garage had collided with my right bumper. It is important to note that my car was parked in front of another vehicle and not in a designated parking spot.
Subsequently, the building manager reached out to me and provided me with the contact information for Gold Coast Parking services. Acting upon this information, I sent an email to Gold Coast Parking services, and shortly after, a representative called me. During our conversation, the representative mentioned that insurance coverage typically applies when a car remains within the premises. They assured me that they would review the surveillance videos and conduct an investigation into the incident. However, despite their initial assurance, I have not received any further communication or updates regarding the progress of their investigation.
Very unprofessional building management and parking company they hired!
