Five Star Premier Residences of Hollywood

My mother and father were residents at Five Star for a total of almost 7 1/2 years. My mother continued to live there for 5 years after my father passed. When they first moved in it was a much different place. The adequate staff was amazing, the food was good, the facility was clean. Mom and dad were well taken care of and happy.
In the last few years the facility has gone through many changes since Covid. They lost a lot of great employees and hours were cut back to practically one aid per floor at night exhausting the one person who has to care for all the residents. I usually stayed there for 3 nights at a time and over the years and witnessed it all myself. I usually stayed on weekends because that is when staff attendance had the most issues and the food was the worst.. The issues were really getting worse in 2023, mom kept telling us she would ring and no one would come help her at night. While staying In October I found an aide sleeping at a desk at 2:00 am after my mom rang her bell for help and no one showed for the second night in a row. I had to go wake her up to get help for my  mom. The food had become so bad my sister prepared meals and stocked mom’s freezer so she would have decent meals. The cleanliness…there isn’t any. The whole place needs a deep cleaning. The rent kept going up and the quality kept going down.
The floor nurses and the aides are the superstars of the facility. They are there for the residents and work tirelessly without breaks. This facility needs to make some serious changes and appreciate the employees that are on the frontline caring for the fragile residents of Five Star.
My mother passed in November 2023.
I am sorry to say I would not refer a friend of family to live at this facility.

I want to send a note of appreciation to Leslie, and to several of the dining room employees, who made our recent visit to 5 Star very pleasant. Please pass along our thanks to: Phara, Lorraine, Shania, Alisha & Patrick. We appreciate everything the 5 Star employees do to make life as enjoyable as possible for your residents.

I would like to send a big thank you to Darline, Devon, and Shirley for the love, caring and compassion that the 5-Star Community provided to my mother and father during their time at the community.   The team at 5 Star was amazingly supportive during the move in and transition and incredibly compassionate and supportive when my father passed.    We are grateful for the care, programming and support provided to our family.

It would take all day to share all of the wonderful experiences my Mom and our family have already had since she moved into the Five Star Premier Residences of Hollywood. Let me tell you, we looked at a lot of other communities and no other place felt like home or compared to the warmth and feeling of family that this community possesses. It is like a little city and there is so much to do. Every single day mom calls me to share all of her adventures, classes, shows, and tells me the names of her new friends. I cannot thank the staff enough for making this transition so smooth for my mom and our family!

1/10 ***EDIT/READ**** Editing my initial review below, because I cannot respond to the companies generic response about calling them to resolve this matter. During my Mother’s stay again, it was the worst experience of my life! The fact that they are reaching out to me now is a joke, I REITERATE, DO NOT HAVE YOUR LOVED ONES SUBJECTED TO TGIS ABUSIVE PLACE. I almost begged these people to be kind and was forced to remove my mother from this place so please do not try to reach out to me now to find out what can be done too little too late!!!
My mother was a resident for 6 months and it was the worst experience of her life.  The lack of compassion and the inconsistencies on the behalf of the staff and management was horrific!  As a result my mom now has Dementia and has set her back terribly!  I strongly urge you not to put a loved one in this facility. It looks good but it is appearance only.  Please do not even think about this place for anyone you care about!!!!!!!!!  They don"t deserve any stars!

Food is awful and they always find excuses for serving the food cold

My sister relocated from NY and moved into 5 Star Premier in Dec of 2021. She loves her apartment and adjusted very quickly. Living alone in NY was quite lonely for her. In her new environment she gets live entertainment 4-5 times per week, plays bingo, does excercise with physical therapists in addition to daily chair classes. She is sometimes too busy to talk on the phone. Her life has changed for the better at 5 Star and I highly recommend.

Life has changed for all of us, my parents have regained their strength and encouragement, and now they live in a place where everything is around them, and we have achieved family tranquility that we did not think we would have. I highly recommend all executives, staff, teachers, entertainers, chefs, etc., are in charge of our elders.
