I’ve been living in the loft-style apart ...
I’ve been living in the loft-style apartment here for two years now, and while there are things I love, there are also some major issues that can’t be overlooked. What I Like:
• Location: Flagler Village is an amazing area. It’s vibrant, up-and-coming, and walking distance from some of my favorite spots. Las Olas is just a short distance away, which is super convenient.
• Amenities: When available, the amenities are great. The building is definitely improving with new shops opening up around the area.
• Community: The community here is young, fun, and generally a nice vibe overall.
What I Don’t Like:
• Fly Infestation: During my first year, I had to deal with a fly infestation in the hallway. It wasn’t just a few flies it was 30-40 flies at a time. It was disgusting, and since it happened on the weekend, I had to buy my own supplies from Home Depot to handle it. This happened three times in my first year, and while I treated it myself, I received no urgency from management. It wasn’t until the third time that the issue was finally addressed by sealing up the walls. To be honest, I never got an apology or any compensation for having to deal with this.
• Trash Problems: The trash situation is another issue. The trash bins outside are often overflowing, and it’s become a problem with homeless people going through the trash throughout the day. Late at night, it feels unsafe, with people sleeping near the bins. There should be more security walking through the building, especially in the late hours.
• Guest Parking: Guest parking is a nightmare. The parking ticket situation is out of hand, and my friends hate coming over because the ticket people are ridiculous
• Trash Bins Blocking the Way: On top of that, I have to walk past four large trash cans every time I leave the building to get to my car, which is not ideal, especially given the issues with the trash already. Not only that the homeless people coming through picking at the time. Should be more security thought the day and night.
Rent is expensive here, and with all the problems I’ve had to deal with, I don’t feel like the price is justified, especially considering the location of where this unit is even when looking at safety concerns and the situations through out the year.
Final Thoughts:
If you do decide to live here, Trish in the leasing office is an absolute gem and deserves 10 stars. She’s been incredibly helpful from the start and is one of the reasons I even considered moving in initially.
