The Whitney Apartments

6/23/23: So many issues with this building, but my biggest issue is the lack of security in this place. Crime is rampant in this building - multiple cars have been stolen from the garage, cars have been vandalized (keyed), bike room thefts, and last night multiple cars were broken into. These crimes have been reported to management since at least 2019 and residents have been pleading for cameras in the garage to no avail. There was also a reported shooting in the building and a kidnapping (google it, you’ll find the news article). The garage gate is consistently broken. Doors to the building do not lock allowing people to enter the building without a FOB. Again all these issues have been brought up to management on multiple occasions by different residents and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING has been done to improve the security of the building.
Do yourself a favor and find another place to live.
And no, management, you will not find my name in your records as I am a current resident using another account to avoid repercussions as I have heard you have done before with other residents who have publicly voiced their concerns (i.e. withheld security deposits and charged insane moving out costs)
EDIT: 8/10/23 and doors/locks still broken despite the many bad reviews (goes to show how little management cares about its residents’ safety), elevator broken for 4 months without any resolution or communication to the residents, pool area smells like pee ALL THE TIME due to the dog park being next to it which makes it impossible to enjoy the amenities, gym AC broken which makes it unbearable to exercise, humidity in the hallways. Cannot wait to get out of this lease
Edit: 1/9/2024 and garage door is still broken. They “fix” it and works for two days only to be broken again.
Garage elevator still broken - it’s literally been 9 months. I could have had a baby already and this POS building still cannot manage to fix an elevator.
Building continues to smell like pee everywhere. The rugs on all the floors have so many spots/stains where dogs have peed. I don’t think they ever vacuum the rugs let alone wash them.
The humidity continues to be a problem in the hallways and individual units. Gym AC doesn’t work.
I honestly do not know what this management company does as literally none of the issues that I listed in my original review have been addressed. Do not move in to this POS building. Stay away

We have lived at The Whitney since August of 2022 and our experience here has been amazing. The building is well kept and always clean. All of our family and friends always rave about how beautiful the building is when they come to visit. The doggy park is spacious with plenty of room for your fur baby to play. The gym is always clean with 2 floors and plenty of machines and weights to go around. The pool area is a vibe. And the community is welcoming. If you ever put in a service request they are there within the same day.
Management and the Leasing Office are very responsive and super friendly - Ari and Braxton are the absolute best.
We even transferred apartments during our lease renewal just to a higher floor for a better view and the entire transfer was so seamless. It’s definitely going to be hard to get us out of here!

The entire Leasing Office staff is awesome. Their willingness and availability is exceptional. They have helped me with various issues and requests exponentially. The overall friendliness of everyone is rare and greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend The Whitney for the value, amenities, and especially the staff !!!

I have lived in the Whitney for the past year and it has been a great and very clean place to live! Maintenance always comes within a few hours of putting in requests. Braxton is awesome and made our move in process easy and smooth. She is always very accommodating and helpful if we need anything!

First of all I have to admit that whoever built this complex was really thoughtful and professional. The areas are planned well, you can access the gym just by getting down the elevator, there are plenty of common areas to work and relax, and the design is very modern. However, the management is pathetic. They work to make your life here not as great as possible but a nightmare. I am a current resident but writing this review from a different account because I know what they do to people who leave bad reviews - they don’t return deposits and make life here even more miserable (from real examples).
What you read from other's real (not simulated/paid 5-star reviews) reviews is true. There are problems with security with random people knocking at your door without having any access to the building, numerous car break-ins, the garage door breaking 1-2 days after being fixed and strangers entering the parking lot directly from the street, dog poop and pee smell at the pool area, dirty smelly carpets on the floors after pets, stolen mail, garage elevator has not been working for almost a year since the the heavy rain in Fort Lauderdale etc; all are well known issues. The worst thing, however, is the people who are supposed to help you and work to make your life easy and enjoyable. The management is a NIGHTMARE - full of snakes and thugs. They behave as if they are a royal family descendants and you are a miserable peasant coming to plead for something (after you signed a lease of course). They think they are the smartest and most amazing. Ari and her minion Braxton rule this parade of absurd and be sure you won't get anything but an attitude you have never deserved in your life. They are lacking the simplest skills of courtesy, respect, and kindness.
I didn't have much interaction with the General manager but he seemed to be a very decent person but also the one who's not trying to be involved in the drama with those 2 "queens" above.
The maintenance requests are done fast and the lady responsible for those is very nice - special thanks to her and a huge sorry that she has to work with these folks.
I lived in Dubai, China, and Europe and have never expected to encounter this behavior from the management. The place that is supposed to be a luxury resort and bring you joy and feeling of being home turns for a quite a bit of money is being ruined by a couple of hillbillies that do not know how to treat people and spit their rural habits on their residents and turns out to be a below average condominium.
I am sorry to write this because I like the location and the concept, but I would never recommend living here to a friend!

My girlfriend and I moved into The Whitney October of this year and have loved it more and more as we stay. Our bottom floor unit has higher ceilings than majority of units in the building as well as street access from the back patio and parking available which we love. Special thank you to managers here Braxton and Ari as they have been very helpful and accommodating.

I love living at The Whitney! The apartments & amenities are great. The staff are also so nice. Braxton has been super sweet, genuine & helpful.

This place is terrible in terms of both management and the building itself. I've experienced numerous maintenance issues, including shelves breaking from items under 25 lbs., a broken screen door, and a persistent dog odor throughout the entire apartment. Gym problems add to the list—broken AC, delayed equipment repairs, and even finding dog waste in the gaming room. Rain leaks, unresponsive management to emails or calls, and a general lack of communication make living here extremely frustrating. The building's robustness is pitiful, and the security level is terrible. With numerous crimes and little improvement, I can't wait for my lease to end so I can leave this place.
