The most difficult part of writing this ...
The most difficult part of writing this review is choosing where to begin. Let’s start with the most recent issue. This is the second time this month that the building's fire alarm system has gone off past midnight. To clarify, not my unit's fire alarm, but the entire building’s alarm system. Both times it was a false alarm. Nothing has been done to resolve this issue, nor was an apology issued to any of the tenants whose sleep has continued to be interrupted. The building’s "security personnel" is too busy falling asleep on their golf cart and scrolling on TikTok to try and catch whoever keeps setting off the alarm. Secondly, tenants in apartment 305, building 1335, blast music day and night without a care in the world. They own an entire stereo system, which can be seen from the balcony. Management continues to do nothing about this. The stairwells of building 1335 give you a glimpse of what living in Cuba would be like—or any third-world country. Tenants allow their dogs to defecate and urinate all over the walls and stairs of the stairwell, leaving a delightful scent every morning to wake up to. But at least we have a janitor who cleans them—when she’s not too busy speaking loudly on the phone outside every apartment door about personal affairs that no one should have to listen to in the privacy of their own homes.
To continue, tenants allow children to play and ride bikes in the parking lot, which is not only highly irresponsible of the parents but incredibly dangerous for the children, as I have already witnessed numerous close calls. It is stated on a sign that this is not allowed. Of course, management and "security personnel" continue to do absolutely nothing. I was told by a neighbor that children cut his internet cable on top of his door. It was all caught on a Ring doorbell camera. He brought it up to management, but of course, management and "security personnel" continue to do nothing. Office workers told him that "there is nothing they can do." A second neighbor also stated that his vehicle was struck by a shopping cart. I believe this, as I have witnessed the children pushing each other on the shopping carts, which are stolen from stores by the tenants. That should give you a glimpse of the people that this leasing office is allowing to move here.
Fourthly, if you plan on moving here because there is "security" or the building has a gated entrance, do not bother. Security lets anyone in without confirming if a tenant has agreed to let them in. I received a call from security stating that a woman in a red Kia had asked to enter and gave my building and unit number. I do not know any woman in a red Kia, and I firmly stated to the security officer that I do not know this person and that they should not grant them entrance to the building. As you have probably guessed already, security let her in. The woman began banging on my door. Obviously, I did not open the door. I called security back, and they stated that the woman had the wrong building. Could you imagine if this was someone who wanted to harm somebody? This is disgusting on the part of this building.
Lastly, at least to deal with the stress of all these issues, we have access to the building's pool. There is nothing like bathing in cat hair and cat feces on a hot summer day. My apartment unit takes hours to cool down. I notified maintenance personnel, and they told me the AC unit is incorrectly installed. This unit requires a bigger AC unit, as the one currently installed is for a one-bedroom apartment. I have a two-bedroom. Finding parking after 10 p.m. is impossible. Cars are forced to park in the fire lane, which is not only illegal but also a fire risk, as it would make it difficult for firefighters to access the building.
To conclude, it seems that the only thing the leasing office knows how to do is raise the tenants' rent. The management of this building is incredibly disappointing. Security personnel are rude and negligent in terms of their job duties. Do not move here, please.
