I had never lived on my own before moving into 6600 Main Street in 2021. When I initially moved in the rent was expensive but doable, however upon the first renewal my rent was hiked up by $500, and then an additional $100 the following renewal. I stayed for a total of 3 years. While the apartments are nice, with good views, there is nothing luxury about this apartment building. In the three years I spent there, the fob activated call box in the front door of the building was broken for about 80% of that time which resulted in Amazon packages being stolen on a frequent basis, a random man sleeping in the hallways which required police, people pulling the fire alarm at all hours of the day and night. Additionally, the “gated” garage which also had its own fob activated door was also broken for the entirety of the last year of my lease, and the gate was often wide open for anyone to come in. Many cars got broken into over the course of that time, airbags stolen, a motorcycle was stolen from the garage as well. As a single woman living alone in a building with several ongoing safety concerns, when I voiced my concerns to management, their answer was “we’re working on it, I don’t know what to tell you.” The gym was always absolutely disgusting, even having the bathroom smeared with feces everywhere, the clubhouse was also always extremely dirty. Overtime, cleanliness in the building went downhill with the hallways and elevators constantly smelling of pet waste, the actual walls inside the building are coming apart at the seams. Furthermore, the noise in this building is insane, I could hear my neighbors yelling at their PlayStation at 2am on a regular basis, as well as any kind of construction or repairs in other units was extremely loud. When I contacted the leasing office in regard to this, their answer was “it’s a building, there’s noise” which is true, however the treatment I received from management was in my opinion unprofessional considering what you’re paying. I worked night shift for most of the time I spent living there and finally after complaints regarding construction noises, etc, management finally started sending emails letting the tenants know when they would be doing work. Which brings me to my next point, the management in this building needs some severe customer service training. With the exception of the maintenance staff, particularly Miguel who is lovely, the office staff are often nasty, ruse and unkind without cause. I bothered management as little as possible, I believe in 3 years I only placed 2 work orders for things inside my unit, one of which was the fact that animal bones were clogging the drain in the bathroom, which I had to remove on my own. I rarely bothered the office for anything, and yet every time I contacted them regarding any issue I was having, they were dismissive and impolite. I would not recommend 6600 Main to anyone. Paying $2600 in rent for a one bedroom apartment that is considered “luxury” and yet continuously dealing with safety and security issues, unsanitary conditions, and rude and dismissive management just doesn’t seem like it’s worth it to me. I spent the entire last year of my lease trying to get out of it and ended up having to stay. The day I moved out of this building was the happiest day of my life.
