I’ve been so well taken care of by Cameron here at Alea, from finding the perfect studio apartment to being a resident. He’s always attentive and ready to work with me on any issues. It’s also so pleasant to walk up and be greeted by E & D, who are always happy to help :-)

Fake Reviews + Bad Maintenance I have li ...
Fake Reviews + Bad Maintenance I have lived at the Alea for a few months and I like the area, but unfortunately I feel as though I am paying rent for things that never happen.
And elevator has been out since I got here and they won’t fix it. Now a second has gone out and they still haven’t fixed it. The building can not operate with only 2, there are 32 floors. It now takes 10-15 minutes to go up for down.
I have maintenance requests out since January 1st and they won’t come. I’ve sent emails about it and still nothing. They also refuse to prorate rent even though they’re failing to provide a service I’m paying for.
Fake reviews:
They have all their staff write 5 star reviews to hide what’s really going on. They even made one of the security guards write one when he started. PLEASE LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF 1 STAR REVIEWS. It is astronomical compared to the fake 5 stars.
Why would you trust living somewhere that has to write fake reviews and bribe new hires?

UPDATE: Elevators down constantly, management has no communication. Management is the absolute worst. What was once such a tight knit community is now individuals scrambling to get out. They make all the management employees write fake 5 star reviews. FIX THE ELEVATORS. Homeless camps surround this building, not safe. Consistent smell of marijuana through the building. Unresponsive management. Not a real hotel. Overpriced apartments. Go to the Elser or brickell.
Most of the good reviews on this page are fake. Most apartments leak water when it rains and smell of mold. Just look at the response from the owner below.. its pathetic. How about you give me an email or call me? I've wasted enough of my time dealing with your management. I am counting down the days until I leave and get to go to an actual luxury building.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! First off, scroll past ...
DO NOT MOVE HERE! First off, scroll past the 5 star reviews, which I assure you are either written by very new residents, or people who don't actually live here. Employees of the building are required to write 5 star reviews, to offset the real reviews.
I moved here in July 2023 thinking this would be a luxury building as it was presented that way, but I assure you, it is far from it.
On a surface level, the building is beautiful. But once you live here you'll find:
1. Dog feces and urine on the carpet in the hallways, that unless complained of repeatedly, is left uncleaned. This is a public health issue (see pictures attached).
2. Damaged carpet in the hallways (see picture attached).
3. Damaged and dirty walls.
4. Excessive noise;
a) there is very loud construction noises from the building being built next door. The construction begins in the very early morning hours, even on weekends.
b) you can hear people's conversations and door shutting from inside your unit.
c) the music from the resturant in the lobby is loud enough to feel like you're in a nightclub.
5. Airbnb guests and residents leaving their garbage in the hallways (see pictures attached).
6. Swimming pool and jacuzzi heaters are intentionally not turned on. The water is ice cold, and sometimes the jacuzzi is green from being dirty. No sense in having a beautiful pool area, if you can't use it (see picture attached).
7. Unreliable amenities.
8. There is a horrible reek from the resturant in the lobby. The restaurant stores their food in the loading dock/garbage area and the stench reeks into the package/ locker area and lobby.
9. Once your lease is signed, they scale back services that you are paying for, but they continue to charge the same rate. They charge $66/month for cable and internet, but as of January 31, they limited the cable package to essentially nothing, yet the monthly cost stayed at $66.
10. Serious issues with windows and leaks. Residents have had tape put on windows to fix leaks after storms and then no responses to maintenance requests or calls for a more permanent solutions (see picture attached).
11. In December 2023, they announced a Xmas contest for residents to potentially win a $250 rent token by decorating their doors. The building never actually walked around to judge the contest and the winner was never announced on December 22nd, as they stated would happen.
12. We used to have 24 hour security in the building, but we no longer do now that the building is cutting costs.
13. For 2 weeks the building has had only 2 working elevators, with 3 elevators down. More recently, there is obly 1 working elevator in a busy building with 250+ reaidents and 32 floors!! There is nothing being done to have the elevators repaired nor has management kept residents updated with when to expect the elevators to be back in working order.
14. Management is unresponsive, so good luck trying to having any issues resolved.
And the list could go on

I had a tour of the Alea apartments and I thoroughly enjoyed the apartments and the beautiful views they have of the bay and bayside. I had a hiccup with my application, which put me in touch with Monique Fireall, the community director and she was amazing! Monique exceeded all expectations and really went above and beyond to assist me. Monique was extremely efficient in responding to all my questions & emails instantly, and was very helpful with the whole process. Monique was awesome and I highly recommend speaking to Monique if you have any general questions or need assistance with the apartment application process, as she will certainly make sure you are taken care of with 5 star service!

Update: I called the number and it’s disconnected! Half the elevators are currently broken, so waiting for an elevator is a chore every time. The pool and hot tub heaters are broken, so they are unusable in this weather. The gym has broken equipment and constantly lacks gym wipes (gross!). And my air conditioning has been broken for nearly my entire stay, and they are not in a rush to fix it. In addition to all of that, there is a constant LOUD construction noise outside that makes it impossible to use the balcony during the day. What a disappointment, especially for the price!
