Do not be fooled by the picturesque lofts in Casablanca Villas - the building is squalid and run by highly incompetent management. Animal feces often litter the hallways, with urine-stained carpets providing a breeding ground for the constant insect and roach problem. Stolen packages are commonplace; multiple security cameras are broken and the remote New-York based management remains largely unresponsive.
The building is alarmingly unequipped to withstand the frequent rain and inclement weather here in Florida. Many units have pre-existing ceiling holes that rupture again under heavy rainfall; rapid response teams confirmed that this particular building is notorious for favoring patch repairs over investing in long-term solutions. Frequent elevator breakdowns, indicated by blaring alarms, force residents to take the stairs – yet these are also flooded.
Lastly, potential renters should beware of the defunct rooftop pool. Management proposed a two-week closure in August 2022 – as of February 2023, little substantive progress has been made with no indication of reopening in the near future. Landlords continue to levy fees for repairs and claim supply chain issues, despite the rapid turnaround exhibited in buildings nearby. Our pool remains a gaping hole.
I strongly advise interested parties to avoid this building until the above issues are addressed. While the lofts themselves are lovely, the utter lack of direction within management is abhorrent. At this price point, better buildings with functional amenities exist in mid-beach without drastically reducing the standard of living.
