Our experience at Modera Skylar has been ...
Our experience at Modera Skylar has been marked by both excitement and disappointment. Initially attracted by its prime location and spacious layouts, we found ourselves facing a series of challenges that dampened our enthusiasm. The unreliable elevators have been a constant source of inconvenience, disrupting our daily routines. The closure of the pool deck, including the inaccessible BBQ grills and outdoor workout amenities, dashed our hopes of enjoying promised amenities.
Adding to our concerns, late-night fire alarms have gone off multiple times. Despite the efforts of leasing and maintenance staff, management's response has fallen short of addressing our concerns. Furthermore, the parking garage, with its constantly flickering lights on some floors and complete darkness on others, resembles a haunted house, exacerbating our sense of unease.
To top it off, the presence of a small dog repeatedly urinating in the lobby and elevator, coupled with residents leaving trash in the trash rooms instead of using the chute, has compounded our frustrations.
We call upon Mill Creek to take meaningful action, addressing safety concerns and restoring our trust. It's time for substantive changes, not just empty promises. Our community deserves transparency, accountability, and a commitment to resolving these issues. Thank you to the service team and Donyei for doing what you can, now it's time for Mill Creek to clean up the disasters.

Dear Modera Skylar, Why should we fully pay "our montly rent"?
I think the monthly rent fee includes all amenity services, such as elevator and pool, in addition to unit rent. Elevators never work, and pool has been closed for months. We should get a reimbursement a part of our rent fee. Are you planing a reimbursement to residents??? If not, you should consider.

She came to live with my daughter a few months ago and I really can't wait to leave this place!!!! The issue with elevators has become a big problem for me, they give me anxiety and panic attacks!! Every day I have to take my 10-year-old grandson up and down to go to school because the idea of the child being stuck alone in the elevator doesn't let us live!!! On one occasion I missed an appointment with my doctor because the 3 elevators were out of service. Another thing is the pool, the only training we had!!! They closed it 3 months ago. And the place looks dirty!! The carpets in the hallways and elevators are always full of dog urine!!! Anyway, don't move to this place!!! Avoid bad moments!!!

Elevators never work. When they do work, they work for two days at most. Every weekend only one works so imagine.  Pool has had no water for over 2 months. When I first moved in my apartment had little roaches everywhere, so I had to fumigate myself 3-4 times before I got rid of them. On top of all that I am being charged 200 dollars extra for water a month when I live alone in the apartment. No possible way that I waste that much water. Literally impossible. But they told me I have to pay for it till they figure out the problem. With all these problems they should be giving me lower rent instead of charging me more.  Do not waste your time and do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Moving in was the worst process 44 calls ...
Moving in was the worst process 44 calls to the front office no answer. The front office will tell you well maybe they were busy or on a tour. I have 143 phone calls to the front office UNANSWERED! If you dare to move here call there Corporate Office and explain they're not picking up the phone they will make them call you back.
After living here for 14 months it's pretty bad . Brand new elevators never working properly .... the security door on the third floor parking garage has been kicked in and is now broken 90+ days they're too cheap to fix it. 2500 a month no pool and a mini gym .
Moving out was horrible as well they booked a 9am and a 10am move in/out appointment at the same loading dock. Overloading the elevators causing them to break again had to use the stairs to move out. (not sure how they booked a 9am appointment being the office opens at 10am) Ill be checking with corporate

My partner and I were thrilled to find M ...
My partner and I were thrilled to find Modera Skylar with a great location, and spacious layouts and balconies, but that's about all it has going for it now. We must've caught it on a "good day" when we toured 3 months ago, because shortly after moving in, the pool was drained with no explanation,  and we immediately began experiencing issues with the elevators - in the 2.5 months we've lived here, I've not once been able to enjoy the pool that was promised in the amenities laid out in the lease, and I'm certain that all 3 elevators have only been working at the same time only a single day in the time we've been there. The one elevator that DOES work is rickety at best, skips floors, gets stuck, and drops like we're on the Tower of Terror. It's a SAFETY hazard, even more-so than the significant inconvienience it causes. The elevators are nearly a year past inspection, likely because they wouldn't pass. Management sends elevator crews what seems like daily, but all it ever is, is a bandaid that only lasts for about a  day. Where's the permanent fix? And back to the pool, why were the permits not secured with the City BEFORE the pool was drained and the deck was closed? To top it off, there is barely any communication about these concerns.
I should also mention that the past two nights in a row and at least twice otherwise, the building fire alarm has gone off around 10:30pm, with no explanation. I have PTSD from having experienced a partial building collapse at a previous apartment, and it is traumatizing not knowing whether or not these instances are true emergencies.
My heart goes out to Donyei in the leasing office for having to field constant calls from unhappy residents, we know it's not her fault, neither do we blame our building maintenance who've been nothing but efficient and responsive. It is truly disappointing to read through the reviews, all of which echo my own sentiments - it is even more disappointing to read through management responses to the reviews with the same tired apology for the "inconvenience" and an empty assurance that they are working on these things.
At this point, we all need a detailed explanation of WHAT exactly they're doing to remedy the safety and inconvenience concerns. This goes far beyond management - Mill Creek should be embarrassed about how they handle business and the safety and security of their residents. Actions speak louder than words - there have not been much of either. We SHOULD at the very least, be getting a rebate on rent and amenities. But if they won't do anything for the current residents, I can only hope that the threat of losing money from prospective residents as a result of these reviews will finally drive action.

This is genuinely starting to get out of ...
This is genuinely starting to get out of hand. I will be honest, I will not be renewing my lease here. This place is disgusting and trashy. 1 maybe 2 elevators for the entire building. Green pool. Missing packages. Packages in random places so sometimes I have to play hide and seek to find them. People leave all of their stinky trash in the trash room on the floor instead of just putting it in the chute??? Dog pee and giant logs of dog poop in the stairwells for an entire week. Writing on walls and doors in the stairwell from upset tenants. Tiny gym. Roaches and ants on the pool deck. People leave trash and glass bottles out on the deck. Dirty cabanas on the deck. Have to walk up many many flights of stairs if the elevator isn’t working. Parking garage is sketchy with those flickering lights. Needs more cameras for safety of tenants. Elevator skips floors. One good thing: Maintenance is prompt and same-day when you put in a work order.

this building is horrible.  the elevators keep breaking down and it's always "we regret your experience, blah, blah, blah."  All 3 elevators have worked at the same time for maybe 2 months total for the entire year i've lived in the building.  the one elevator that mostly works at times doesn't take me to my floor - i have to get off on the next floor and either wait for the elevator again or walk down the stairs to my correct floor.  very bad experience and i feel bad for new tenants.

This building is the worst I have encountered. Firstly, their elevators are constantly out of service. They’re supposed to have 3 working and most of the time it’s just 1. Imagine how long it takes to go up or down. Secondly, their pool has been closed for over 3 months, and no work has ever been done. They charge you nearly $100 extra per month for sewage and building electricity, which is ridiculous. Have never heard of any property doing that. To make matters worse, you can talk to the leasing office agents or to Mill Creek Residential about all these issues and they say nothing can be done. Yes there can, finally fix the elevators and fix the pool.
