Where can I start? The Sofia Coral Gables is the most desirable community in the Coral Gables area. With the warm welcomes as you enter the door and the cleanliness of the property. The Property Management and Leasing Agents (Sarah McCarren) are some of the most helpful I have encountered in the industry. Please take the time to visit this property before you miss out on a beautiful new home.

Avoid Renting Here – Management Steals Money from Tenants If you're considering moving here, don’t. The current management, led by Sofia Castillo, is absolutely predatory. This isn’t just my experience – there are multiple cases of tenants being hit with ridiculous and fraudulent charges after move-out. One tenant was sent a $10,000 bill for “improving closets and adding custom built-ins.”
In my case, they charged me for a cleaning fee after I was told the unit met cleanliness standards during a walk through conducted by management. They also went back on the agreement I had with the previous manager during move-in, when I was told I could paint my unit. I moved in during COVID, and the management at the time allowed painting because the building was undergoing improvements to convert units from grey to white. They are now charging me for painting despite it having been approved.
They invoiced me for an extra day of rent after my lease expired, despite my move-out inspection proving I was gone and the unit was under their control. They added fraudulent charges for a parking sticker that broke (as designed), and I returned my keys, yet they still charged me for it.
I contacted management and it took nearly 3 weeks to respond to my grievances which I emailed multiple times. During this 3 week window I called the office multiple times, and was only able to get in touch with Sofia when I blocked caller ID. It is clear to me that my concerns were being willfully disregarded as per leadership.
This place is unprofessional, and Sofia Castillo is notorious for targeting tenants with absurd charges. Her inability to accurately gauge residents frustration portrays a poor aptitude to a position in conflict resolution. Any interaction with Sofia during my residence where an issue needed to be addressed was met with a rude, condescending and hostile demeanor. During my 4.5 year stay at Sofia Coral Gables management has changed hands to Sofia Castillo who has ultimately contributed to me moving out of this property. People need to know how unethical and dishonest this management is. They will take advantage of you.
Avoid this place at all costs.

Just moved into the Sofia Coral Gables apartments. The move was very smooth, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The apartment is nice and upgraded. I'm looking forward to making great memories here.

I’ve been a resident at Sofia Coral Gables for over a year now. The location is perfect, and the facilities are excellent. Sofia Castillo’s management makes living here even better; she’s responsive and truly cares about the residents.
