A thoroughly disappointing rental experience from start to finish. I initially rented unit 14C in the north tower in 2021. When the lease renewal came up in 2022, we were presented with a staggering $1200/month rent increase aka GREED despite no improvements, requested repairs, or even necessary basic maintenance being done on the property in the previous year. The few pros I can note about the building all have to do with the daily staff, who I found to be professional and pleasant to deal with. I only wish their commitment to resident satisfaction would rub off on the property owners. The cons are almost too numerous to list. The dishwasher in the unit is literally nearly 40 years old, the WD stops working after 1 cycle so it can cool off, multiple electrical outlets are physically loose and either unsafe or nonoperational, and the sliding doors - which have one purpose, to slide - do not do so. In addition, nearly everything intended to hold or transport water in the unit leaks, including the kitchen faucet and the toilet water tanks. What I can only assume to be a broken or damaged sewer component, paired with an inoperable bathroom vent fan, routinely fills the unit with a nauseating stench. As someone that works from home, I specifically asked about any pending or current construction projects near the C line prior to renting, and was assured that I'd have peace and quiet - that was a baldfaced lie. Drilling begins at 10am and continues until 4 pm. You can expect a steady parade of notices slipped under your door chronicling the poor management of these project timelines, with "repairs" that stretch on for days and weeks of noisy disruption. The Turnberry Isle area has many issues with piping/water bursting very often, the water goes down for hours, and constance construction drilling noise sometimes at 4 am and during the day with very loud noise from outside and inside the north tower building truly impossible to live. As a final insult to injury, the new Jeffrey Soffer led development site is currently being planned directly in front of the building. It will undoubtedly increase traffic as it tanks the scenic views, one of the few saving graces this property had left.
