My stay at the W Fort Lauderdale was mostly great, but there were a few areas that could use improvement. The hotel has a sleek, modern vibe and the oceanfront views are stunning. I rated the rooms a 4 because they felt a bit dated compared to the rest of the hotel’s stylish ambiance. I highly recommend staying in the residential tower if you can—it offers incredibly spacious rooms with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, a full kitchen, and even laundry facilities, which makes it feel like a home away from home. As for service, I gave it a 4—while most staff were attentive, the pool service could definitely be better. The staff at the pool weren’t the friendliest, and they need more waiters. It was tough to get a drink while lounging or in the pool, and I feel like they’re missing out on a lot of sales because of that. Overall, it’s a solid option, especially if you opt for the residential tower, but there’s room for improvement. Rooms: The rooms at the W Fort Lauderdale are spacious with great ocean views, but they feel a bit dated compared to the hotel’s modern vibe. The residential tower is a great option for more space, offering multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, a full kitchen, and laundry. Overall, the rooms are comfortable, but they could use a refresh.
Nearby activities: The W Fort Lauderdale is in a great location with plenty of nearby activities. The beach is steps away, and Las Olas Boulevard offers shopping and dining close by. I highly recommend Voodoo Bayou for lunch or dinner—it’s fantastic! For nightlife, Hunters nightclub in Wilton Manors is a blast. You can also rent bikes or take a water taxi for a unique city view.
Walkability: The W Fort Lauderdale has fantastic walkability, with easy access to the beach, great restaurants, and lively bars all within a short stroll. Whether you're looking to grab a bite or enjoy the ocean, everything is conveniently close by. Perfect for exploring without needing a car!
Food & drinks: The food and drink at the W Fort Lauderdale are solid. El Vez, my favorite, offers bold Mexican flavors, and Steak 954 serves great steaks and seafood. The Living Room Bar is a fun spot for cocktails, perfect before going out or before bed. Pool bar service could improve, as it’s hard to get drinks quickly while lounging or swimming, but overall the dining experience is enjoyable!
