(UPDATE 02/20/25) Avoid Windsor Ludlam Trail – Not Worth the Headache!
Windsor Ludlam Trail is nothing like it’s made out to be. Like Miline (the next-door apartment), it sits in an industrial area, bringing constant noise, disturbances, and an overall unpleasant living experience.
--------------------
Noise Levels Are Unbearable
The noise here is insane. Tenants rev their engines at 3 AM like wannabe street racers, usually in beat-up Mitsubishis with obnoxious exhausts. The stretch in front (between Burger King and the complex) turns into a racetrack at night. Garbage trucks slam dumpsters between 8-9 AM, and trains pass every few minutes, honking nonstop. The walls are paper-thin—you hear everything outside, killing any chance of peace.
--------------------
Dog Sweat Smell Everywhere
The whole building reeks of dog sweat, especially in the elevators, hallways, and gym. It's completely avoidable if management enforced pet policies or if ownership actually cared enough to increase cleaning frequency. Dog pee and poop are everywhere, even inside the elevators. The carpet hides it, so you often step in it without realizing until you're home and the smell hits you. Disgusting.
--------------------
Crime and Safety Issues
Security here is a joke. Shady people constantly loiter near the garage entrance, sneaking in behind residents. Recently, a woman was arrested for breaking into cars and stealing from tenants. Crime goes unreported. A few months ago, there was even a murder-suicide in one of the units, and you could hear maintenance working on the unit for days—constant banging, drilling, and hammering echoing through the halls.
--------------------
Poor Maintenance and Cheap Interiors
The apartment itself? Cheap. Curtains are thin and useless against sunlight—buy a sleeping mask if you move in. Our floors had scuff marks, chipped tiles, and lifted sections. They should’ve repaved the floors before move-in, but nope—management handed us a worn, neglected unit. The bathroom was just as bad, with scuffed paint, torn plastic, and a terrible shower layout.
--------------------
Fake Google Reviews – Be Warned
Don’t trust the positive Google reviews. If you look closely, they’re clearly bots. Check the reviewers' profiles—they usually leave identical 5-star ratings for random businesses like insurance companies and other commercial services. Very Suspicious. Whenever someone leaves a negative review, a glowing one conveniently pops up to bury it. It’s obvious they’re paying for fake reviews.
--------------------
Depressing Location and Traffic Nightmare
Management sells this place as a “convenient location.” Trust me—it’s not. Sure, it’s close to the airport, but how often do you really travel? The real issue is the constant traffic from the highway entrance and exit right beside the building. It's gridlock almost all day.
And the view? Just concrete. Sit on your couch and look outside—it feels like you’re in a prison. There’s no life here. You can walk on the sidewalk to McDonald's, Starbucks, and a few other chains, but it's all concrete—no greenery, no parks, nothing pleasant. The only patch of green is the tiny park across the street, and to get there, you’ll have to cross through two busy lanes of incoming traffic. You have the "Ludlam Trail", but it reeks of dog pee/poo. I don't recommend it, and it ends once you go all the way down, it's not a long walk, very short (5-10 min tops).

Final Thoughts:
For Miami natives or anyone considering this place for cheaper rent, don’t do it. Trust me, my husband and I chose Windsor Ludlam Trail because of the lower rent, and it was a huge mistake. It’s cost us a ton—not financially, but mentally. This place is genuinely depressing. Save yourself the stress and live closer to the Gables area. Sure it may be a little more, but this place is not worth your money, no matter how “affordable” it seems. It’s cheap for a reason. Avoid it.
