My sister and I went to look for apartme ...
My sister and I went to look for apartments and townhomes, and as we were driving by we decided to stop in. We did not see an official website with information to tour. We went up to the leasing office and rung the doorbell and no one answered. We saw maintenance working at the other end and asked if anyone was in the office. The younger guy was very nice, but the older guy was rude and told us with an attitude to ring the bell to which I responded we already did. He said the lady should be in the office so I tried walking thru to get to the counter, but he told us to walk around from the outside again. When we got back to the door and rung it again, we could see him come around the corner and tell the lady to let us in. She was there the whole time, saw/heard us ringing, and didn’t open the door. I can’t recall her name but she has a British accent, has braids, and wears glasses. She greeted us rudely when we first walked in. I said we were looking for a 2/2 and would like to tour if you have anything available. She immediately started asking for my credit score and assumed it was lower than the requirement.
She was saying anything to get rid of us and didn’t bother pulling up any information or any available units. She even recommended us to look at St. Croix apartments in Lauderdale Lakes… She kept talking about HOAs and kept saying my sister understands and I don’t😂 I understand that there are private owners and some work with realtors and some leave the keys in a lockbox, but she didn’t pull up any information at all to try and look. She didn’t ask for our IDs or anything. She didn’t answer any of my questions and it was a rather irritating experience.
We were not welcomed and the atmosphere was not friendly or inviting. The staff is very off putting and even though my sister and I exceed the requirements we will no longer be looking here. The appliances and units are barely up to date and are not even luxury units for the staff to act like this. We went to view more modern, up to date, and luxury style apartments and were treated 100x better and actually able to view the units and property. Don’t assume someone’s income, knowledge, or credit score just by looking at them (we were dressed nicely by the way so I’m assuming it’s because of how young we look and the obvious). Reading some of the reviews it seems this is a recurring issue among many issues here. Needless to say, it was a blessing in disguise and we’ll take our money elsewhere.
