I lived in Enclave for 3 months before realizing that my apartment had a large leak in the main room and the presence of termites. Therefore, I wrote to my landlords to express my concern about the possible presence of mold and these insects in the apartment. However, my landlords ignored my messages for 3 weeks. In the state of Florida, if the landlord does not respond within 7 days, you have the right to withhold rent payment. After the hold, my landlord finally contacted me demanding payment for the month, and I explained the reasons for the hold and my concerns about mold and termites. His response was to call me a liar. After carrying out an inspection, they found mold in the bedroom, living room, kitchen, air conditioners and in the air room. Despite this, and having told him about a skin rash I was suffering from, this person did not want to let us leave the apartment.
After a month of living out of the apartment, he finally allowed us to leave and gave us only 3 days to remove our belongings. Once the keys are handed over, the landlord has 30 days to send a breakdown of the deposit deductions, which he did not do. After those 30 days had passed, he deducted $450 for a lock change (even though the keys were delivered) and $250 for cleaning without presenting any invoice. This action is illegal, since the landlord exceeded the time allowed by law and signed a document agreeing to return the full deposit. These women completely refuse to hand over the deposit they owe me to be able to replace the mattress and furniture lost due to mold.
I share this experience so that you can be careful with Erica Langers, owner of the apartment 4440 NW 107th Ave, Apt 108, Doral (Enclave).
