As a new tenant, I have been residing in the property for approximately two weeks and have encountered several issues. The wall socket is loose, necessitating the use of a bin to secure the television cord. Additionally, I have experienced two instances of oven fires, and the air conditioning vent in my room is inoperable during the nighttime hours. Despite paying for inspections, I have not yet seen any conducted since our move-in. Consequently, we are paying for unnecessary repairs that have not been performed. Upon paying our deposit without viewing the unit, as the property management refused to show it to us, I requested a move to a unit free from these problems. However, my request was denied, and the manager exhibited a dismissive and rude demeanor. She even suggested that I would not be able to recover my deposit. When I expressed my intention to seek legal assistance, she responded with a dismissive remark, stating, “Get one then.”
I intend to research legal options and consult with a lawyer. I also have a friend who is a lawyer who assisted us with our previous unit, so I will begin documenting the issues as soon as possible. The maintenance guy came January 03,2024 which is today and he stated that the oven nob is the reason for the fire.
Update : they came back and gave me a very old stove that smells terrible and is very rusty. Horrible and plus after reading multiple reviews of how they like to scam people and don’t want to give them their deposit back or make up charges just to keep your deposit I will be on a look out and will be documenting everything. Don’t bother responding here either village at Eastpointe because you respond here and do nothing about it in real life.
