Village Park at Oakland

I love the place. Quiet, clean and inexpensive.

This place has been great for my first 5 years, however in the last year, prices have skyrocketed (like everywhere else), but they’ve cut services. No more security on duty, now car thefts and break-ins are common. Also, they cut the maintenance crew from 2 to 1 which is more work than the one man can handle. This means the grounds are dirtier. This is not on the local management team which does as much as they can, but it’s due to the cheap HOA who are mostly absentee landlords living overseas and out zero effort into maintaining a quality housing community. Update as of 12/21/23.  The need to remove the pool from the list of amenities. Pool has been closed for months and there is no plan for it to ever reopen.
Be warned before moving in.

Its an amazing community, people are friendly. Management needs to be more active. The small gate lock that gives access to the plaza next door has been faulty for months they won't bother changing it. But overall its better than many other places.

This place is an overpriced joke. I applied for a one bedroom apartment which took 30 days for processing with HOA. I got denied and the realtor did not answer my calls to retrieve my deposit that was on hold. For an HOA community this place needs to get rid of the old box A/C unit and upgrade their community since they have so many restrictions.

I lived here for 3 years so far and love it. Nothing feel better to be and feel safe and comfortable. Peaceful
